The Crusty Bun was the idea of Lynn Collins the owner. Lynn left what was then Dryburn Hospital Durham City in 1998 where she was a qualified cook and set up the business from the current premises. Aided by family and one member of staff the business has now grown to several members of staff and also partime staff who help when the need arises.
All staff have been trained in house and have each gained Food & Hygiene qualifications.
The business is based on cooking fresh food made with quality ingredients and with a homemade taste. Sandwiches and Hot snacks are cooked to order so are as fresh as can be for our valued customers. To this end alot of customers telephone their orders in advance.
Many local firms have enjoyed our food & buffets and place regular orders for our goods & our public customers regulary place buffet orders for partys, weddings, childrens birthday partys etc even coffee mornings for their friends as we tailor to what the customer needs not what we supply.
